Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In spite of increasing Internet users especially elderly people, many conventional Web sites are not easy to use for them. One of the effective ways to consider the usability of Web sites for elderly people is adaptive user interface that depends on variety of user's skills such as experience and cognitive ability. The purpose of this study was to build the estimation models of elderly user's levels of skills from logs of operations in online shopping with tablet PC. First, 6 types of skills that are necessary for Web search were investigated and selected, then skill evaluation tests which can evaluate on tablet PC were created. Second, an experiment was conducted by using Web browser that can collect logs of operations such as touch behaviors on screen, displayed pages, and menu button interactions. Finally, estimation models of 6 types of skills were developed by using decision tree. From the results, we confirmed that some of the models including models of experience and processing speed could estimate levels of skills in a high accuracy.
