| Abstract(in English) | In network function virtualization that performs some network functions on general-purpose servers by using virtualization technology, virtual network function (VNF) is placed on the servers flexibly in communication networks. Currently, in order to utilize the VNFs in an appropriate order, service function chaining (SFC) has been studied and developed. In the SFC, each packet has some tags that denote the VNF where a packet should be processed. By forwarding a packet according to the tags, each packet can be processed in appropriate VNFs. Here, in SFC, a packet has to be processed in an allowable delay in all VNF where the packet should be processed. Therefore, in this paper, we propose VNF mapping and scheduling method with idle time of VNF. In the proposed method, we consider two algorithms for using the idle time of VNF. We evaluate the proposed method with simulation. In numerical examples, we compare the performance of the proposed method with that of the existing method and we show the effectiveness of the proposed method. |
