Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Small-cell network where a number of distributed antennas are deployed within each macro-cell can mitigate the negative impacts of path-loss, shadowing loss, and multipath fading. Multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) transmission using multiple distributed antennas close to user equipments (UEs) achieves a high sum throughput. However, in MU-MIMO transmissions, UE combination affects the sum throughput and UE throughput. This paper evaluates the impact of UE scheduling criteria (maximization of instantaneous sum throughput (Max C/I), proportional fair (PF), and round robin (RR)) on small-cell network downlink using distributed antenna orthogonal-frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-MU-MIMO. We evaluate the sum throughput, UE throughput, and Jain’s fairness index (FI) performances with each UE scheduling criterion by numerical evaluation, and discuss the impact of UE scheduling criteria.
