Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Satellite/terrestrial integrated mobile communication system (STICS), in which a user terminal can directly connect terrestrial and satellite base stations, enables both the expansion of service areas including isolated mountainous and oceanic areas, and the robust connection against large natural disaster. The radius of satellite cell in STICS is wide such as 100 km, and the number of users in that cell tend to become enormous. Thus, it is important to increase the number of accommodated users. We have proposed the application of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme for the downlink satellite cell in STICS to improve the user throughput. However, the increase of the number of accommodated users is not considered. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an application of NOMA with weighted proportional fair resource allocation for the downlink satellite cell in which the number of active users is more than frequency resources. Then, the enhancements of both average user throughput and fairness in resource allocation are realized. The improved performances are shown through numerical simulations.
