Proposal on Novel Ray-Launching Method with Quasi-Uniform Spatial Resolution, and its Effect on Calculation Amount Reduction

Abstract(in English) Currently, ray-tracing method came to be commonly used to radio propagation analysis. Ray-launching method is one of techniques for tracing rays. In this method, plural rays are launched from transmission point, and are traced until set conditions are satisfied. Here, spatial resolution becomes low according to the distance from transmission point, because the rays are discretely launched. This means accuracy of radio propagation analysis is degraded. In this paper, we propose novel ray-launching method, in which the spatial resolution is almost uniform in analysis area. In addition, we theoretically clarify that calculation amount of the proposed method can be reduced up to 50 % of that of conventional method when the same accuracy of the analysis is required.
