Characterization of Contact Oil in Electrical Contacts by the Alternating Current Impedance Method

Abstract(in English) Recently, there is a need for decrease of insertion force for automobile connector, and applying of the contact oil is considered as one of the solutions. In this study, characterization of the oil film was evaluated by calculating a resistance, capacitance, oil film thickness and oil film breakage rate of the contact oil by the alternating current impedance method using the steel ball and the liquid metal. As a result, it is proved that the oil film thicknesses and oil film breakage rate increased as oil viscosity increased. The oil film thickness of the mixed oil was thinner than that of simple substance oil, and a breakage rate also was lower.
