Range Walking Correction Based on Decimation

Abstract(in English) Degradation of detection performance for pulse radar equipment occurs by range walking of a target which decreases coherent pulse integration gain. In this paper, we propose a method which improves pulse integration gain by decimation processing of received pulse signal even if the range walking occurs. The decimation processing expands the range bin of the digital signal for pulse integration on the identical range bin between some pulse repetitions. In this process, the signal-to-noise ratio is maintained by a low pass filter and the property of pulse signal. The degraded range resolution is recovered by estimating the range walking transitions of the target during the coherent processing interval.
