| Abstract(in English) | There are three honorific expressions in Japanese Language. However, it is too difficult for foreigners to understand the meaning of honorific sentences. Conventional Japanese reading support systems use the method of displaying all the description of words which are contained in a text. Therefore, it is necessary to read the text and words at the same time. Regarding the researches of converting honorific forms to common forms, if users can not understanding the meaning of common words, they can not understand the meaning of the whole sentence. Therefore, in this study, we have developed a honorific sentence comprehension support system for foreigners which displays results step by step. As the result of the experiment, we found the following findings: (1) Since the effect of the proposed system was higher than conventional systems, we found that our system was more effective than the conventional systems. (2) When foreigners can use the support system to understand a honorific sentence, Japanese language ability level is required more than N2 level. (3) As the result of significant difference test, we found that only these steps are not enough to understand a honorific sentence. |
