Abstract(in English) | In recent years, the data from observation equipment mounted on satellites have increased with technological advancements. %In the future, it will be impossible to downlink the observed data by radio frequency communication. Satellite optical communication has attracted much attention to significantly increase downlink capacity. The wavelength of laser light is very short. Therefore optical communication has several advantages such as an increase in transmission capacity, reduction of antenna size, improvement in energy efficiency and so on. However, satellite optical communication has two problems. First, the satellites can only communicate for a short time with ground base station due to fast orbital speed. Second, the optical links sometimes cannot communicate with ground base station because laser light is greatly affected by weather. %To resolve these problems, there is plan to launch a geostationary orbit satellite, that can relay observed data from observation satellites to ground base station. %However, it is difficult to establish the links between geostationary satellite and observation satellite owing to distance of the links. %Besides, launching a satellite to the geostationary orbit requires high cost. Therefore, in this study, we propose a method to downlink observed data by using Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites network. We specifically propose a method to distribute observed data effectively among satellites by utilizing information of satellite position and weather to maximize downlink data size between satellite and ground base station. |
