Abstract(in English) | In recent years, character recognition technologies in natural scenes are widely studied. Character detection from natural scenes is a very challenging task due to the obscurity about characterness. In this paper, we present a novel characteristic feature based on shape briefness of texts. Our method enables to remove a lot of Non-character regions successfully and improve the accuracy of character detection. |
