Abstract(in English) Recently, convolutional neural network (CNN) has shown its great performance and is used for various tasks. However, there are many hyper-parameters to optimize in CNN. Besides, CNN is not always 100% accurate. In this paper, We have developed methods (1) to optimize CNN using one of the evolutionary method, particle swarm optimization (PSO); and (2) to define con fidence of CNN using output probabilities to achieve a hybrid classifi er framework by combining CNN and a traditional cascade classifi er. As a result, we have improved the accuracy of Alexnet from 81.7% to 94.6%. Finally, we implemented our recognition system into a smartphone application called "Seat Selfi e" aiming at seat belt image recognition.
