Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Since internet of things (IoT) devices such as sensor device or automotive equipment, become widespread, the security of IoT devises is very important. These IoT devices have constraints on the area and the power consumption. Therefore, lightweight block ciphers which have small area and low power have attracted attention. Simeck is a new lightweight block cipher proposed at CHES2015. Simeck can be implemented on the smallest area in lightweight block ciphers. Regarding the hardware security, the risk of fault analysis attack is reported. However, a study of fault analysis attack for Simeck has not been reported. Therefore, this study proposes a fault analysis attack for Simeck. The proposed method analyzes a key using 2 stage analysis. Simulation results show the vulnerability of Simeck and the validity of the proposed method.
