Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Smart Spectrum Access (SSA), which is an advanced Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) exploits any statistical information of spectrum utilization obtained by spectrum usage measurements has been investigated. This paper focuses on signal processing techniques for measurements in a spectrum usage measurement system. An observation equipment performs the spectrum usage detection in time-frequency plane using Welch FFT for time-frequency conversion and energy detection. For Welch FFT, to properly select Welch FFT segment size is important since it determines the degree of accuracy of spectrum usage detection. Conventional segment size selection method requires relatively high computational complexity since it exhaustively searches a proper segment size from selectable all segment sizes, which results in an inefficient search for selecting a proper segment size. In this paper, a segment size selection method which limits searched segment size while it selects a proper segment size with low cost and efficiency is proposed. By numerical simulations, the performances between proposed method and conventional method are compared and analyzed.
