Abstract(in English) | Recently, it is a serious issue on wireless communication that traffic of cellular network is increasing rapidly. For the solution to the issue, we have already proposed the Dependable Air, which can avoid a congestion by using several high-throughput small cell systems such as wireless local area networks (WLANs). For high-density placement of small cells, outdoor small cells constructed by access points set up to indoor areas will be used in the Dependable Air. However, there is no conventional study of eld measurement of indoor-outdoor propagation. In this paper, we show the eld measurement results of 3.5 GHz-band indoor-outdoor propagation characteristics. The 3.5 GHz band will be used for small cells of Long Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-A) systems. The indoor-outdoor propagation characteristics of 3.5 GHz band will be compared with that of 2.5 GHz band. The measurement results show that received power of 3.5 GHz band signal is 10-20 dB less than that of 2.5 GHz band signal; thus the coverage of 3.5 GHz band is 15 to over 140m smaller than that of 2.5 GHz. |
