Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Attempt was made to develop a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) identifying attended letters using an event related potential component, P300. With the help of support vector machine (SVM), the extracted features distinguished P300 patterns for attended letters from those for unattended letters with significantly high performance we proposed a further method to finalize the output of BCI system by evaluating the accumulated SVM discrimination outputs to each of all the flashed letters. Under the condition of 400 ms for inter-stimulus interval (ISI), the discrimination was almost perfect. The effect of the ISI on the discrimination performance was also investigated.
