Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As a linguistic factor that is closely related to the development of Theory of Mind, mental state terms have received considerable attention. The present study created a list of mental state terms to analyze their use in the speech of Japanese-speaking children (2-4 year olds) and their mothers. The results were generally compatible with the results of the previous checklist studies. We further analyzed subcategorization patterns for the verbs that take a finite clause.
