Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) One of promising applications for implant communications is wireless capsule endoscope, which allows us to provide high-quality medical and healthcare services. However, due to strict bandwidth regulation of the medical implant communication services (MICS) band, it is difficult to achieve high-speed video transmission. Furthermore, large path loss in an implant communication link causes communication performance degradation. To solve these problems, we employ an adaptive modulation scheme with a blind estimation method to improve the communication reliability and data rate without any frequency bandwidth extension. Also, we evaluate the throughput performance over the communication distance for the proposed schemes through computer simulations based on the propagation characteristics of implant wireless communication signals.
