Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We attempt to develop a communication system for people with severe motor disabilities using electroencephalogram(EEG) . One of the methods employed in this brain-computer interface (BCI) is by using steady state visual evoked potentials (SSVEPs). In this research, we have developed the Japanese syllabary speller (72 points light stimulation). We investigated the success rate of SSVEP using this speller in dark room and bright room. As a result, if the room is bright, the success rate is lower. Also, we investigated the success rate in general room with the light turned off. The succsess rate is equivalent to the success rate of dark room.
