Quasi-4x30 Contention Wavelength Selective Switch with 31 Input-Output Ports

Abstract(in English) 1xN wavelength selective switches are significant modules to configure reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexers. The 1xN wavelength selective switches are capable of usage of MxN contention wavelength selective switches. However the usage is restricted within a contention function, that is, only one optical path can be set for one signal channel. Although input ports are distinguished from output ports in MxN contention wavelength selective switches, input ports can be used as output ports in quasi-MxN contention wavelength selective switches. We report a quasi-4x30 contention wavelength selective switch with 31 input-output ports.
