Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Ultrasonic attenuation spectrum is determined on the basis of the reference spectrum, which is measured in clear water. The reference spectrum in pipe flow depend on the flow velocity. In this study, we measured the reference spectra in pipe flow under laboratory conditions. As a result, it was found that the reference spectrum depended on Mach number, Reynolds number and the thickness of viscous boundary layer. Therefore, we proposed an empirical formula of reference spectrum in pipe flow, and measured the suspended sediment concentration and particle size distribution of suspensions in the pipe flow by using this formula.
