Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Statistical shape model (SSM), which represents a static organ shape, has been applied to some medical image understanding problems. To understand living human body deeply, it is desired to enhance the SSM to a temporal SSM. This paper proposes a method to construct a growing SSM, which represents temporal change of organ shape. The method is based on weighted PCA using a temporal weight function. To evaluate the proposed method, we report the experimental results for artificial data and neonatal brain shape data. The artificial data are represented by a point distribution model, and the neonatal brain shape data are represented by a level set model.
