Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) can quantify iron accumulation in a brain tissue and cerebral venous oxygen saturation, and they can be an important indicator of neurodegenerative diseases and cerebral functions. Therefore, precise mapping of magnetic susceptibility distribution will lead to understanding of the diseases and the functions. In QSM, magnetic susceptibility distribution can be obtained by deconvolution of magnetic perturbed fields with dipole fields. In our proposed method, densely sampled dipole fields are employed to improve the quality of QSM. In this study, to verify our proposed method, we performed a human study and examined visibility of cerebral blood vessels. We compared Maximal Intensity Projection (MIP) of a susceptibility map from our proposed method to that of the tricubically interpolated a susceptibility map from conventional method. In our proposed method, visibility of several cerebral blood vessels is improved. This means that the quality of QSM is improved.
