Texture analysis based image registration between pathological images and MR image

Abstract(in English) Multi-scale analysis using several modalities of medical image has been conducted. In order to compare the features of image at the same location, accurate image registration method is required. However, conventional metrics such as mutual information cannot evaluate similarity between images appropriately when image resolutions are extremely different. This time, a texture analysis technique was introduced to image registration. Image acquisition experiment using pig brain was conducted. We confirmed that difference between gray and white matters in pathological image was clearly enhanced and image registration between pathological images and MR image was successfully conducted.
