Highly accurate registration between pathological image and optical macro image by improving capture mechanism

Abstract(in English) In order to conduct multi modal and multi scale analysis, highly accurate image registration is needed. However, conventional image registration cannot provide suitable result because image features are significantly different. We have been developed image registration for pathological images and MR image via optical macro image. This time, optical macro image and pathological image were taken from swine’s brain. Then, image registration between optical image and pathological image was carried out. In order to increase the accuracy of registration, we considered the illumination light at the time of capturing the optical image, and introduce an wall surface removal method by use of tissue thickness information.
