Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, mobile sensor networks have been expected to be utilized in disaster prevention, crime prevention, environmental monitoring, ecosystem monitoring, and so on. It is desirable that mobile sensors autonomously cooperate with each other in a distributed manner such that they can speedily and effectively cover important locations in a target area. In this paper, we propose a distributed cooperative control scheme composed of two phases: search phase and convergence phase. In the search phase, each mobile sensor explores its allocated area during a certain period based on an optimal stopping rule, which is determined by moving cost and sensing results for discovered locations. Then, mobile sensors share the sensing results with each other and effectively cover the area according to a potential game in the convergence phase. Through simulation experiments, we show the proposed scheme can speedily and effectively cover the area.
