Influence of optical delay compensation on the phase noise of spurious suppressed opto-electronic microwave oscillator

Abstract(in English) Opto-electronic microwave oscillator (OEO) is promising for realizing low phase noise oscillation at microwave and millimeter-wave bands. A spurious suppressed OEO with frequency down/up conversions and a narrow band IF BPF was proposed in order to suppress spurious components, which increase when the loop length is extended for high Q factor. In the spurious suppressed OEO, delay compensation is needed for canceling the influence of phase noise of the local oscillator for frequency conversions. In this presentation, we examined the influence of the optical delay compensation on the phase noise of the spurious suppressed OEO.
