Study on simultaneous detection of DNA virus and RNA virus using reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification from a mix sample

Abstract(in English) Japanese Red Cross Society keeps safety of blood products by nucleic acid amplification test (NAT). However, infections exposed to the blood products including virus have been reported. From this background, we developed the metal-coated hollow fiber membrane. This membrane has high conductivity and high rate of viral concentration. We found that viral detection using this membrane and the reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP). This viral detection was confirmed that rapid and equal sensitivity than NAT against DNA or RNA virus. In this report, this viral detection examined whether could detect DNA and RNA virus from sample including both DNA virus and RNA virus.
