Handover Method Based on Congestion Rate of Neighbor Access Points for MIPv6 Using Permanent Wireless Connection

Abstract(in English) In order to achieve seamless handover between heterogeneous networks in Mobile IPv6, our laboratory proposed handover processing methods using a permanent wireless connection. The authors have proposed a method for changing the timing of handover from the current AP, which is not connected by the permanent connection, to a neighbor AP based on the congestion rates of both APs. However, the proposed method did not support in case that more than two neighbor APs can be selected. This paper proposes a new method to handover to the AP, which has lower congestion rate, by obtaining congestion rates of all neighbor APs over the permanent connection.
