Abstract(in English) A flip-flop circuit between two phase states is proposed and analyzed. The flip-flop circuit consists of an SOA, two directional couplers, and phase shifters. The optical set / reset input and output signals are at a single wavelength. No continuous light source is required to operate the circuit. In this paper, we theoretically analyze the operation performance and present numerical simulation results of the flip-flop operation. We confirmed the flip-flop operation in the case of the feedback loop length of 15 mm, the input intensity of 6.79 mW, and the input pulse width is 1.0 ns. We also confirmed the operation of the flip-flop between the four phase states.
