| Abstract(in English) | It is about 30 years since an optical fiber was introduced into commercial optical communication systems. Since then, optical fiber cable technologies have become sophisticated ones. Optical communication systems utilizing the radio technology has been developed to increase the transmission capacity. The research and development on the innovative optical fiber cable technology has been started for further transmission capacity expansion. In this lecture, the fundamentals of the optical fiber are described, which are necessary to develop such a new optical fiber cable. |
