Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes an indoor location estimation method using radio signal strength at multipoints as fingerprints. The proposed method measures radio signals from multiple beacons at nearby points and treats a combination of the signals as a fingerprint. The method also measures relative offsets between the nearby points by dead reckoning in a short period. The combined fingerprints have more features, or information, than a fingerprint at one location and thus enables the system to increase accuracy of location estimation. Moreover a short-term dead reckoning can avoid cumulative errors in relative offset estimation. This paper evaluates the proposed method by simulation using data measured with Bluetooth beacons in an indoor environment. The location estimation errors decreased from 1.5m to 1.4m by the proposed method with pattern matching using degree of similarity (PM), from 1.1m to 0.6m with Support Vector Machine (SVM), and 1.3m to 0.9m with Random Forest (RF). The rates of correct answers increased from 8.3% to 32.8% (PM), from 52.2% to 84.6% (SVM), and from 21.6% to 66.0% (RF) where an answer is correct if its error is less than 0.5m.
