Abstract(in English) In WDM network, wavelength tunable lasers which can offer high-speed wavelength switching are required due to the high demand for wavelength restoration at an network outage. We have invented fast wavelength switching method which combines the manipulation of the laser injection current with thermal compensation. In the experiment, a switching time of less than 100ms is obtained. We also show that our method can be applied to DFB LD array as well by optimizing the switching condition according to the combination of the LDs before and after the switching.
