Abstract(in English) | The authors propose a novel design for haptic devices incorporating electrical and fingerpad stimulation for use in practical units designed to generate virtual forces. The user’s fingerpad deformation is controlled with a miniature mechanical unit in the proposed method, and fingertip position is influenced using electrical stimuli. Basic verification experiments using a prototype with healthy subjects indicated that the method supported higher accuracy in virtual force perception than cases in which only electrical stimulation was applied. |
