[Invited Talk] Modeling and optimization of Li-air battery

Abstract(in English) Li-air battery has been paid great attention as high specific capacity and energy density rechargeable battery. However, there still remain a lot of issues for practical application. Especially, property of electrolyte and effect of discharge products are considered to determine battery performance. In this study, we analyzed deposition behavior of discharge product, Li_2O_2, when considering an applying voltage to the system. We also investigated the relationship between a structure of the carbon surface and discharge products and its effect on I-V characteristics. Influence of solvation effect by [Li(triethylene glycol dimethyl ether (G3))][bis(trifluoro methyl sulfonyl) amide (TFSA)] as electrolyte was also examined. Our modeling approach by analyzing behavior of these electrolyte and discharge products, will reveal the performance of Li-air battery theoretically.
