Modeling and Evaluation of Low Latency Network Architecture Considering Computing Latency in Fog Servers

抄録(和) Abstract Extremely low latency is one of the critically enhanced performance in 5G. Various applications in 5G trend to be supported by Cloud computing service. However, the geolocation of Cloud servers could be far away from a user location. A long communication distance requires long transmission delay which cannot satisfy the depressed latency of 5G requirements. Fog computing architecture, therefore, is introduced in 5G network to shorten the latency. A data center is placed on an edge of the networks. Anyhow, the total latency must compose of the transmission and the processing time. In this research, we study the communication delay and computing delay in the Fog computing model. Policies of how to select a Fog target for each source are also considered. Finally, the numerical results from a developed simulation are analysed.
