Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optimization of dose distribution to the tumor and critical organs in the proton beam scanning therapy takes long time because of high computational complexity. In this study, we developed fast optimization method for performance improvement in the proton beam scanning therapy. As a result of comparing the calculation time of the SFUD proton assuming the scanning irradiation of the prostate, the software with proposal method takes only about 20 seconds, while it takes several hours without the method, which indicates significant performance improvement.
