Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) One of causes of pressure ulcer is long time sleeping with the same posture; therefore, care takers maintain subjects posture every two hours. Since it is very hard work, we are implementing a risk assessment system to reduce such work load, and, in this paper, we introduce a part of the system: sleeping posture classification from body pressure distributions. We measured body pressure distributions from 19 healthy people for 4 hours sleeping using an e-textile pressure sensor and built classification method focused on horizontal/vertical centroid-line and local pressure distributions. Classification accuracies by supervised learning are 96.3% for three sleeping postures (spine; left and right laterals), and 92.3% for four sleeping postures (spine; left and right laterals; and prone).
