Abstract(in English) | In many partial differential equation models used in various applications such as fluid analysis, their analytical solutions are not well known, and thus, they are often solved numerically by a numerical simulation using a finite difference method. However, numerical simulations are generally slow. Therefore, hardware solutions to accelerate numerical simulations are required. In this paper, we focus on a numerical solution, the MacCormack scheme, which is used to solve linear Euler equations, and propose a parallel algorithm for the scheme and its dedicated circuits for FPGA implementation as a hardware solution. To compute the MacCormack scheme efficiently in various applications of numerical fulid analysis on an FPGA, we explore efficient architectures by their experimental evaluation for various computation parameters of the scheme. |
