Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In associative memory models overloading beyond the memory capacity causes catastrophic forgetting. In order to avoid it, forgetting process was introduced. However the synaptic traces of the old memory patterns which cannot be recalled due to the forgetting process disturb the recalling process of the newer patterns, and then reduce the memory capacity. In this research, synaptic threshold is introduced, which is the smallest synaptic strength sustainable. Using 0/1 model, it was shown that synaptic threshold can increase the memory capacity.
