Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is known that keeping pitch and pressure of uttered voice steady is required to improve singing capability. However, keeping them steady might be difficult when vocal cords vibration of uttered voice includes “breathiness”. In this research, as the first step to the goal to detect breathiness level in singing, we investigate the detection method of breathy voice in vowel singing. This paper describes an analysis focused on harmonic structure of breathy voice for two singers. The analysis uses an LPC residual signal calculated from input voice and the kurtosis which reflects sharpness of spectrum to evaluate breathiness. It is found that by using the kurtosis, breathiness of hard breathy voice is likely to be detectable, but some soft breathy voice is not detectable for some vowel, pitch or pressure condition.
