Abstract(in English) | In this paper, a new algorithm for estimating the altitude of roads and neighboring facilities is proposed. This algorithm is based on the data sensor fusion of atmospheric pressure sensor data embedded in smart phones or tablets and the sampled altitude data which are available in the digital road map database. The atmospheric pressure data enables continuous estimation of corresponding altitude data in the digital road map database whenever available. The algorithm is implemented in a form of Kalman filter. The effectiveness of the algorithm is confirmed by the experiments in a real environment. |
