Abstract(in English) Go-Back-i-symbol(GBi)-ARQ method can archieve symbol-wise retransmission by using a convolutional encoder and a Viterbi decoder. In this paper, we apply this method to the secondary system in a low interference cognitive radio system and propose a modified method called GBi-ARQ method with limitter in which the metric calculation is modified by limitting the branch metric to accurately detect the reliability degradation caused by interference from the primary system. The performances of the GBi-ARQ method with limitter are evaluated by computer simulations.
