Abstract(in English) In a next generation WLAN standard IEEE 802.11ax, an efficient sounding protocol compared with 802.11ac sounding protocol for DL-MU-MIMO has been studied. Sounding mechanism is carried out in order to obtain accurate channel information to improve the system throughput. However, there is a trade-off between accurate channel information and the overhead reduction. Therefore, the selection of sounding interval is an important factor for the system throughput enhancement in DL-MU-MIMO transmission. In this paper, we evaluate the overhead reduction in the 802.11ax sounding protocol compared with the 802.11ac sounding protocol. In addition, we also evaluate the influence of the sounding frequency on the system throughput performance using the 802.11ax sounding protocol.
