Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Antonymic adjectives in discourse can be used to express opposing properties of a meaning dimension. An example of this can be found in wine tasting notes, where the characteristics of the wine are described using a number of different dimensions. In this paper, we examine the change in use over time of antonym pairs in wine tasting notes. In particular, we analyze the change in the use of thick and thin by word co-occurrence frequency, generating visualizations for diachronic analysis.
