Abstract(in English) | The previous study presented several channel utilization methods by exploiting OpenFlow in multi-channel wireless mesh network (WMN). Since the OpenFlow technology inherently requires control traffic to handle data traffic transmitted on WMN, so that, the control/data traffic are transmitted together. That is, the control traffic consumes the network bandwidth, thereby decreasing the network capacity used for data traffic. In the previous channel utilization method, since the statistic information is obtained for transmission of each flow, the total amount of control traffic becomes much larger in response to the increase in the number of flows such like in the real environment. In this paper, we propose a new method to reduce the mount of control traffic while maintaining the performance of data communication. Specifically, our proposed scheme focuses on the bundle information that can be obtained from each interface. According to this, we also extend the method to control multiple flows together. Finally, we show that the proposed scheme can reduce the amount of control traffic drastically, while preserving the communication performance as much as possible. |
