Abstract(in English) | Wireless Local Area Networks (LANs) based on IEEE802.11 standard uses CSMA/CA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance) for the media access control. In CSMA/CA, however, the data frame collisions often occur if the number of wireless terminals increases. To solve this issue, we have already proposed a media access control method based on synchronization phenomena of the coupled oscillators (SP-MAC). Previous studies have evaluated characteristics of SP-MAC without taking into consideration for the existence of hidden terminals. However, hidden terminals usually exist in wireless LAN, and they affect the total throughput of wireless terminals. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of SP-MAC considering the hidden terminal problem. Furthermore, we propose an effective solution for the performance limitation of SP-MAC when hidden terminals exist. |
