Dynamic construction of to-many communication topology by using OpenFlow

Abstract(in English) To-many communication such as streaming and multi-point video conferencing basically uses tree structure of content distribution where a distribution server is its root. Because such structure causes problems on effective delay mitigation and bandwidth utilization, many studies on multicast has been conducted, but unsupported routers and its management costs obstruct wide spread of utilization. In this paper, we discuss an automatic topology construction method that an OpenFlow switch rewrites the destination of unicast packets and replicates them to realize effective to-many communication. In proposed method, based on a receiving request from service users, a controller selects the most appropriate switch and controls flow entry in order to construct flow topology dynamically. Thispaper also describes the implementation of the controller and discusses remaining issues for feasibility of the method.
