| Abstract(in English) | With the wide acceptance of virtualization in the IT area, telecom players are also becoming interested in using virtualization for flexibility and cost reduction. As ETSI ISG NFV is defining standard specifications for virtualization-based telecom networks, implementations of the standards are necessary before commercialization. Opensource software is one of the promising candidates, with a proven track record in the IT areas, for delivering solutions for telecom with cost-efficiency and speed. Open Platform for NFV (OPNFV) is an opensource community with a heavy presence of the telecom players. Since its formation in last year October, it has already delivered its first release, a reference NFV platform. Due to the involvement of the telecom operators and service providers, OPNFV focuses on practical telecom requirements, and many projects in OPNFV are running to deliver a common reference NFV platform. |
