Adjacent channel interference performance improvement by weighted averaging technique for overlap FFT filter-bank

Abstract(in English) The authors have been proposing a single-carrier modulation based wireless access scheme using overlap FFT filter-bank to enable flexible utilization of non-contiguous unused spectrum. As narrowband signal and wideband signals are transmitted from multiple wireless terminals, it is expected to improve adjacent channel leakage power (ACLP)/adjacent channel interference (ACI) performance for more flexible spectrum utilization. The authors reported ACI performance of the overlap FFT filter-bank can be improved by windowing technique and ACI performance is degraded due to discontinuous impulse response when connecting two successive waveform of two FFT/IFFT blocks. In order to solve this problem, this report proposes weighting and averaging technique to improve ACI performance for the overlap FFT filter-bank in combination with windowing technique. Computer simulation results confirm the proposed technique can improve ACI performance.
