Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is thought that central pattern generators (CPGs) hypothesized in the spinal cord should account for the reproduction of quadrupedal gaits, such as walk, trot and bound. We have reproduced quadrupedal locomotion patterns by using hardware networks composed of four CPGs. In this technical report, we modeled a new hardware CPG network of eight CPGs that theoretically proposed and numerically simulated using mathematical models by Golubitsky et al., and we reproduced switching phenomena between quadrupedal locomotion patterns by varying only one parameter corresponding to externally input DC voltage VMLR.
